Copper Mine Consultancy completed!
PublishedDecember 7th, 2009Jill has just presented her proposals to Menter Mon (Anglesey Enterprise) for 5 different objects and artefacts linked to the copper-mining heritage which can be produced locally and marketed to promote Parys Mountain Copper Mine.
They include copper jewellery and fabrics based on archival hand drawn maps of the patterns of mine workings, a souvenir relief sculpture of the iconic windmill, unique copper sculptures ,and specially-commissioned limited-edition etchings made by utilising the acidic pools on Parys Mountain which are the legacy of mining there.
The next step will be a consultation process with local businesses to develop the ideas into products using local makers and craftspeople based in Anglesey.

PublishedJuly 29th, 2009Jill Randall has just started a 2 -month Consultancy commissioned by Menter Mon (Anglesey Enterprise), who manage Parys Mountain Copper Mine and Amlwch Industrial Heritage Centre, to develop work resulting from her recent Artists Residency. This will involve coming up with ideas for copper-related products and artefacts which can be manufactured locally and marketed to promote the coppermining heritage, as well as ideas for a Coppermine Heritage Art Trail.
Open Studio Weekend coming up !!!!!
PublishedMay 22nd, 2009Jill’s studio, Prospect Studios in Waterfoot, will be open to the public Sat 6th and Sun 7th June, 10-am-4pm, as part of “Reveal”, a Weekend of Open Studios in Rossendale Valley, Lancs. Work by artists Liam Spencer and Alan Birch will also be on display.
It’s a great opportunity to see Jill’s most recent work, as well as a rare opportunity to purchase new limited edition prints and small sculptures at bargain basement prices!

Hiddenplace project
PublishedApril 15th, 2009Jill has been commissioned to produce work for the Hiddenplace project in Burnley, Lancashire.

Jill’s commission has resulted in “Eye of the River”, a short original film with musical soundtrack composed and perfomed by Robin Walker. It was filmed by sending a video camcorder on a small boat down the culverts and tunnels of the 2 rivers Brun and Calder that disppear and reappear under Burnley Town Centre. It was screened in unusual public venues across Burnley May 2nd -11th, and can be viewed on youtube under “Eye of the River”.
