Miners are stalked by mines.
My visit to the Museum of Mining in Pachuca yesterday began with a video about the history of mining in the area. It was in spanish with rather inaccurate english subtitles which were unlike anything I’ve heard to describe mining previously. It described the emotional and spiritual impact of the experience of working in mines on the miners and stated that every miner is haunted by mines and mining. It could be quite an inspirational video to use in work later, taking titles as starting-points for work. It also shows the very different attitude to mining here-something to be revered almost, an activity with spiritual parallels.
